Planning Time

How to go about Planning Time

A segment is simply a piece of time and intending is a plan that you make for the future.

While this technique is called Segment Intending in the adult world I have changed the name to Planning Time so children will understand it easier. I learned segment intending from Abraham-Hicks!

Plan out some time in your day, not a long time. A small amount of time works best!

Decide on what you want out of this time. It could be a list of things you want to get done or a feeling that you want to have. Either way, say what you want out loud before the time arrives.

Example

You might decide that you want to stay calm and focused for a science test.  Simply say out loud “I plan to stay calm and focused for the time it takes me to ace this test.” Maybe you want to get your math and spelling done in an hour and you want it to be easy. Say out loud “I plan for this to be easy.” Then say “I plan to have plenty of time to get my math and spelling done.” Its just thinking about what you want and making an plan for this time to go just as you want it to.

When you start to practice planning time remember not to have second thoughts.

Only pay attention to what you want and nothing else. Believe in yourself! Know that you already made an intention and everything will go as planned. Never second guess what you expect from the time that you planned. Faith in yourself is all you will need.

If anyone bothers you during your planned time, you need to decide whether the interruption is important enough for you to stop your planned time.

Example

Your teacher stops by your desk and to ask you some questions. If the interruption is not important enough, keep going with your planned time. If the interruption is important, make a decision to stop your planned time and start a new one (one centered around the interruption). If your principal wants you to help him in the lunch room unexpectedly you can plan something new for this time, like “I plan to enjoy helping out in the lunch room.”

Practice planning time throughout the day. Each time saying out loud what you want and believing it. Planning time works even better with a buddy! Get your friends involved and they will thank you later for it! Whether you plan time by yourself or with a friend, you’ll see that when you make a plan for your time and know what you want from it, everything you want comes easier!

These are just a few powerful plans that I make everyday!

I plan to have a safe happy healthy journey though my day.

I plan to send light and love out ahead of me today.

I plan to enjoy every second of this day.

I plan to find things to be thankful for.

Please copy this and print it for your favorite kids!

Enjoy your family~Valerie
